He is admitted to practice to the United States District Court, Western District of Kentucky, the Kentucky Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

A native of Louisville, he received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his law degree from the University of Kentucky.
